I ask kids What is maths good for? or Name an important mathematician, and they really don't know, don't understand. I reckon that the history of maths should be a component of all mathematics classes, from the start. You can't get maths if you don't know its history, its beauty, its humanity.

Isn't it funny how we don't question the numbers? If it says 77% then we think it is accurate, with no questions about what the test was, who designed the test, what the test conditions were, or even if you can test what it is they set out to test.
